The City of Williamsport receives Community Development Block Grant and HOME funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to "develop a viable community by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate income persons”. All activities must meet a national objective, meet funding guidelines and be consistent with the goals and objectives of the City of Williamsport's Consolidated Plan.

The CDBG program allows us to undertake a wide range of activities such as Codes Enforcement, Home Rehabilitation, Home Buyer Assistance, improvements to Public Facilities (water, sewer, street reconstruction, sidewalks, parks and pools), Economic Development, and more.

The HOME Investments Partnerships Program primary objective is to provide safe housing for lower and moderate income households residing in Williamsport. The HOME program has provided both multi-family and single family homes and rental units, and benefits home owners, renters and encourages home ownership.
