The Department of Finance performs all financial accounting functions for the City of Williamsport except for those reserved by law for the elected Controller. Primary responsibilities include: recording the City's financial activity, maintaining the computerized accounting system, processing payments to vendors, payroll, and city-wide purchasing oversight. The Finance Department also prepares and monitors the City's Annual Operating and Capital Budgets (as adopted by City Council).
